Complete Macalester vs. St. Mary's results
Macalester turned in eight first-place efforts to beat St. Mary's 117 ½ to 92 ½ in an MIAC dual meet meet in St. Mary's.
Jeff Yamashita (Jr., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani School) led the way for the Scots by winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.91) and 100-yard butterfly (55.14). Also winning a pair of races was
Nathan Young (Jr., Denver, Colo. / Littleton), who reached the wall first in the 200 freestyle (1:55.53) and 100 backstroke (55.53).
Ted Metz (Fy., Teaneck, N.J.) placed first in the 500 free (5:43.92),
Paco Venneri (So., Los Alomos, N.M.) won the 100 free (54.72) and
Jackson Gilkey (Fy., Millis, Mass. / Xaverian Brothers) took first in the 1650-yard freestyle (19:54.20).
Mac also won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:34.39) behind the swims of Young, Venneri,
Kai Cowger (Fy., Elgin, S.C. / Spring Valley) and Yamashita.
The Scots host the Roger Ahlman Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 21) at the Riley Pool. Diving begins at 9 a.m. and swimming events start at 1 p.m. Participating teams are Macalester, Augsburg, Hamline, St. Mary's and St. Thomas.
