Macalester vs. Hamline statistics | Video clips from the match: Miner's goal | Bardwell first goal | Bardwell's second goal

For the seventh time in the seven-year history of the event, the Macalester Scots will be part of the four-team MIAC playoffs, which get underway Tuesday (Nov. 3) with a semi-final tilt at St. Thomas. The Scots earned their way in with a 3-0 triumph Saturday at home against Hamline on Senior Day.

Macalester jumped on top of Hamline on Lucy Miner's (So., Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) first goal of the season in the 16th minute, while Emily Bardwell (Jr., Denver, Colo. / East) added her 12th and 13th goals of the campaign later in the half.  The Scots received assists from Maddy Cochrane (Sr., Grand Marais, Minn. / Cook County), Grace Geiger (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / Bishop Blanchett) and Rose Holdorf (Jr., Corvallis, Ore. / Crescent Valley).  Bardwell becomes the seventh player in the history of the program to score 13 goals in a season.

The Scots out-shot Hamline 19-3, including 9-2 in shots on goal. Mac had a 9-1 corner kick margin.

No. 3 seed Macalester will play No. 2 seed St. Thomas Tuesday in one MIAC semi-final match at 2 p.m. In the other match Tuesday, conference champ and top-seeded Concordia will host Carleton. The MIAC finals are next Saturday (Nov. 7), with an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III playoffs on the line.
