Complete Macalester vs. St. Olaf results
Traditional league power St. Olaf earned first place finishes in 12 out of 16 events in a 205-70 MIAC dual meet win over the Scots at Riley Pool. St. Olaf is ranked No. 6 in the nation.
Nathan Young (So., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) placed first in three events and teammate
Jeff Yamashita (So., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani School) won one event to lead the way for Macalester.
Young won the 100-yard backstroke (53:10), 50-yard freestyle (22.30) and 200-yard backstroke (1:58.50). Yamashita took top honors in the 100 free (50.34). Young is the defending MIAC champ in the two backstroke events. Yamashita placed second behind Young in the 50 free (22.86).
The Scots compete this weekend (Jan. 16-17) at the Grinnell (Ia.) Invitational.
