Visiting Northwestern-Roseville jumped out on top for a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter and went on to gain a 49-13 victory over the Scots Saturday night at Macalester Stadium. The Eagles, defending Upper Midwest Athletic Conference champs, received an 18-for-22 passing game from their starting quarterback and piled up 474 yards in offense.

Macalester falls to 2-3 at the season's midway point, while Northwestern boosts its record to 4-1. Northwestern's only loss was a three-pointer to Simpson (Ia.).

Northwestern enjoyed a 3-0 turnover advantage and had three TDs from 37 yards out or more. The team did, however, go 8-for-14 on third down conversions to bring its seasonal rate to 48%. The Eagles, meanwhile, went 6-for-9 on third down chances to keep drives going and were 4-for-5 in red zone chances.

Quarterback Trevor Miehe (So., Holman, Wis.) went 14-for-24 for 179 yards and also ran it in for a touchdown. T. Joe Loiselle (Fy., Chippewa Falls, Wis.) ran for 65 yards and a touchdown and now has 488 yards rushing on the season.
