Macalester jumped out on top with an early score against the No. 3-ranked team in the NCAA Division III, but Wisconsin-Eau Claire came back to topple the upset-minded Scots and keep its record unbeaten on the season at 10-0-2 with a 2-1 victory in St. Paul. After posting four straight shutout wins, the steadily-improving Scots fall to 6-3.
Emily Bardwell (So., Denver, Colo. / East) scored from six yards out from a
Lauryn Gutierrez (So., Hickory, N.C. / St. Stephen's) assist in the 12th minute as the night got off to a great start for the home side. After being victimized by numerous goalkeeper saves throughout recent games, Bardwell gets her third goal of the year. She leads the team with 36 shots and has over half of Mac's 44 shots on goal. Bardwell has been stopped by GK saves 19 times.
The Blugolds, however, tied things up 17 minutes later to end Mac's impressive defensive scoreless streak at 390 minutes. Liz Hoolstra evened the score at 28:18 and with 16 minutes into the second half, UWEC's Jamie Schiessel netted the game winner.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire out-shot Mac 11-7 and had a slight 5-4 advantage in shots on goal. Each team tried three corner kicks.
