Macalester College head football coach Glenn Caruso has resigned to become the head football coach at nearby University of St. Thomas. Coach Caruso's appointment was announced by St. Thomas yesterday.
In two seasons as head coach at Macalester, Coach Caruso led the turnaround of the Scots program. He guided his team to a 2-7 record his first season in 2006 and led Macalester to a 4-5 record during a 2007 season which saw numerous school records established.
Macalester College anticipates announcing a replacement by next week, said Director of Athletics Travis Feezell.
“Coach Caruso did a wonderful job here at Macalester and the foundation has been laid for a great future for Macalester football,” said Feezell. “We thank him for his outstanding contributions to the college and wish him well at the University of St. Thomas.”
