Macalester vs. Pomona-Pitzer stats & play-by-play
Macalester defeated Pomona-Pitzer 84-82 in overtime at the David Wells Classic in Claremont, Calif., to collect its first win of the young season. Macalester was down by 15 points midway through the second half and nine points with 5:36 remaining. Pomona-Pitzer led by five after a steal and layup with 1:39 remaining, but Macalester forced OT by getting a couple late

The Scots are now 1-3 heading into the MIAC season, while Pomona-Pitzer is 1-2.
Tom Conboy (Sr., Chanhassen, Minn. / Minnetonka) posted his third double-double in four games, finishing with 27 points and 15 rebounds. He went 11-for-15 from the floor. Through the season's first four games Conboy is averaging 22.8 points and 11.3 rebounds a contest. Ranwick went 4-for-7 from behind the three-point line and finished with a career-high 21 points.
Two other Scots reached double figures. Abe Woldeslassie (Sr., Richfield, Minn. / St. Thomas Academy) netted 13 points while handing out six assists, while Paul Richie (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.) scored 10 points.
The game was a three-point shooting contest for the most part, with over half of all shot coming from behind the arc. Mac went 11-for-33 and PP was 13-for-37.
Pomona-Pitzer led 38-32 at the break but Macalester forced overtime by scoring 40 second half points. The Scots made 8-of-10 free throws in the five-minute overtime session while holding the Sagehens to a 3-for-10 shooting performance.
Jabarri Reynolds had 23 points and 10 rebounds to pace PP, while Adam Chaimowitz nailed four treys and finished with 16 points.
Macalester opens MIAC play Wednesday (Nov. 28) at Gustavus Adolphus.
