Logan Hovie (Fy., Neenah, Wis.) won the high jump competition to lead the way for the Macalester men at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend at the University of St. Thomas. Hovie, who was second in the high jump at the MIAC indoor meet, tied with All-American Eyo Ekpo of St. Thomas for best mark, won the tiebreaker for first place based on fewest misses. At the MIAC indoor meet, Ekpo beat Hovie on fewest misses for the title. His winning effort was 2.06 meters (6-9), the ninth-best NCAA Division III mark posted this year.
