EDINA, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team finished in third place in the team standings at the 11-team St. Catherine Fall Invite, held at Eagle Valley Golf Course on Saturday and Braemar Golf Course on Sunday. The Scots posted a two-round score of 302 310 - 612 (+36), 10 strokes behind first-place UW-Stout, four strokes back of the host Wildcats, and six strokes in front of fourth-place Saint Benedict.

Sophomore Yangyang Gu (Nantong, Jiansu, China/Shanhai Experimental School) tied for fifth individually with rounds of 74 and 72 (146 +2) to lead Macalester. First year Marley Zhang (Hebei, China/Shanghai Hongqiao International School) carded a score of 150 to take 10th, followed by first year Eunice Lee (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) in 25th (158 +14). Junior Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) closed out the Scots' top four, tying for 27th with a score of 160 (+16).

Macalester plays in the Carleton Invite Sept. 26-27 at Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White Bear Lake, Minn. The tournament serves as the final event before the MIAC Championships, which take place Oct. 2-4 at Braemar.
