HASTINGS, Minn. – The Macalester College women's golf team finished strong to take second in the team standings at the D3 Classic, hosted by Gustavus at Emerald Greens Saturday and Sunday. The Scots closed with a second round of 304 (+16) to finish three strokes back of Saint Benedict and four strokes ahead of third-place Gustavus.

First year Eunice Lee (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) tied for eighth with a two-round score of 151 (+7) that included a second-round score of 71 (-1). Junior Ava Austria (Portland, Ore./Catlin Gabel) was one shot behind Lee, taking 12th with a score of 152 (+8). Next for Macalester was first year Marley Zhang (Hebei, China/Shanghai Hongqiao International School), one stroke behind Austria with a 153 (+9) to tie for 13th. Junior Mia Cluff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) tied for 26th (+14 158) to close out the Scots' top four. Sophomore Yangyang Gu (Nantong, Jiansu, China/Shanhai Experimental School) played as an independent and tied for second overall after carding a score of 147 (+3).

Next up for Macalester is the St. Catherine Fall Invite Sept. 19-20 at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, Minn.
