PAUL, Minn. – After dropping the doubles point, the Macalester College men's tennis team won five of the six singles matches to defeat Hamline University, 5-2 Wednesday afternoon at Hayden Tennis Courts. The Scots improve to 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the MIAC, while the Pipers fall to 4-13, 1-6 MIAC.

Ezra Mahoney (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) battled Jonah Wendt in a tie-breaker set and clinched the dual for the Scots with a 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) victory. Sophomore
Beckett Annes (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) forced a tie-breaker in his match with Liam Smith at No. 5 singles, winning the second set and taking the tie-breaker to win, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5). Dajani fell to Max Gulliford at No 4 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7).
Next up for Macalester is a MIAC dual against Saint John's University on Thursday, April 23. The dual was originally scheduled to be played at Macalester but will be played indoors in the St. Cloud area.
