ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team lost a MIAC dual at No. 23 Gustavus, 7-0 Sunday afternoon. The defeat ends a three-dual winning streak for the Scots, who are now 9-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play. The Gusties improve to 26-5, 9-0 MIAC.
After Gustavus won all three doubles matches to win the doubles point, the hosts swept the singles matches, all in straight sets. Senior Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) battled in the second set and came close to forcing a tie-breaker before falling, 6-1, 7-5.
Macalester continues MIAC play with a home dual against Saint Benedict on Thursday, April 23. The dual, which is the Scots' final home competition of the regular season, begins at 3:00 p.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
