FARGO, N.D. – The Macalester College women's tennis team beat Concordia College this Sunday afternoon, in a MIAC contest at Courts Plus in Fargo, N.D. Macalester is now 7-6 overall and 2-3 in conference.
Macalester secured the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. At No. 1 doubles seniors
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) won 6-4. First years
Darrian Streater (Redmond, Ore./Redmond Proficiency Academy) and
Isabella Tamburrino (Memphis, Tenn./St. Mary's Episcopal School) won their match at No. 2 doubles by the same score of 6-4.
The seniors would also secure points in their singles matches, Haugen (6-0, 6-4) and Trevathan (6-3, 6-4). Streater would pull through in overtime in the singles match, as well as senior
Sedona Crosby (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) at No. 6 singles in a tie-breaker.
Macalester's next match will be their Senior Day celebration against Saint Mary's University (Minn.) The dual will be hosted at home on Thursday, April 16, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Hayden Tennis Courts.
