Women’s Tennis: Scots Fall to Pointers in First Dual of 2026

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team opened the new year with a loss to UW-Stevens Point, 5-2 in a non-conference dual Friday night at Lifetime Fitness. The Scots are now 0-2 on the season, while the Pointers improve to 11-2.

In doubles play, victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles gave Macalester the doubles point to open the dual. First years Darrian Streater (Redmond, Ore./Redmond Proficiency Academy) and Isabella Tamburrino (Memphis, Tenn./St. Mary's Episcopal School) won their match at No. 2 doubles over Tristin Jantz and Eleanor Aitken, 6-1. At third doubles, the tandem of Mary Jacobson (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell-Newburg) and Greta Laurel (River Falls, Wis./Hudson) outlasted Morgan Milan and Allie Brosteau, 7-6 (7-2).

In singles, senior Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) defeated Jantz, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles for the Scots' other point.

Macalester returns to action on Feb. 20 with a non-conference dual against Edgewood College. The non-conference match will be held at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis at 6:00 p.m.
