MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's tennis team beat Bethany Lutheran College, 5-2 in a non-conference dual Saturday afternoon at Baseline Tennis Center. The Scots improve to 3-2 on the season with the win, while the Vikings fall to 5-3.
The Scots won five of the six singles matches to clinch the match. First year Derek Chen (South Kingstown, R.I./Moses Brown School), first year Charles Flaman (Calgary, Alberta/Rundle College) and sophomore Beckett Annes (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) each swept their wins, with senior Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) and junior Kangyu Li (Shanghai, China/Shanghai Southwest Weiyu) powering through their tiebreakers for more points.
