ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as a recipient of the Team Academic Award, the association announced today. Macalester is one of 151 schools to have both the men's and women's programs achieve the honor.
The Scots, coached by
Madeline Buckley, posted a combined grade-point average of 3.77 for the 2024-25 academic year, which is tied for 28th among all NCAA divisions and 15th in Division III. A total of 414 women's programs across all divisions qualified for the award, which requires a team GPA of at least 3.0.
Earlier this year, rising seniors
Maia Lemov (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central),
Becky Mulcahy (Baltimore, Md./Roland Park Country School) and
Hazel Waters (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) and rising juniors
