MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Macalester College men's swimming & diving team competed in the First Chance Meet hosted by the University of Minnesota Friday and Saturday at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. The meet served as the final tune-up before the MIAC Championships Feb. 19-22.
On Friday, first year
Max Taufen (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) placed ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 4:57.30. Senior
Charles Batsaikhan (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia/East Chapel Hill) and sophomore
Thomas Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Science Leadership Academy) competed in the 50-yard freestyle, taking 13th (21.72) and 14th (21.73), respectively.
On Saturday, Moore finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.48. First year
Kean James Pajarillaga (Saipan, Marianas Pacific/Grace Christian Academy) took ninth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.60.
The MIAC Championships begin on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at the University of Minnesota's Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
