COLFAX, Wis. – The Macalester College women's cross country team placed 13th at the NCAA North Region Meet, hosted by UW-Eau Claire at Whitetail Golf Course. Junior
Ingrid Norquist (Minneapolis, Minn./Anoka) and sophomore
Kate Fox (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) both earned a berth in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships with their performances today.
Norquist finished ninth overall out of 207 finishers with a time of 22:11.0 over the 6000-meter course. Fox placed 15th with a time of 22:23.4. Both were named All-Region, with Fox earning her second straight All-Region citation.
Junior
Samantha Ellis (Intervale, N.H./Gould Academy) was the next Scot across the finish line in 91st with a time of 24:20.2, followed by junior
Ivy Coldren (Frederick, Md./Urbana) in 99th with a time of 24:26.9. Wrapping up the Scots' top five was sophomore
Tilia Iverson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville), who was 114th (24:44.7). First year
Aubrey Jensen (Floresville, Texas), who took 123rd in 24:59.1, and senior
Julia Castellano (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy), who was 148th in 25:30.9, also competed at the regional meet.
Norquist and Fox will run at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Nov. 22 in Spartanburg, S.C.
