WACONIA, Minn. – Junior
Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen) broke the school record for a single round with a 2-under-par 70 to lead the Macalester College women's golf team to a victory over Crown College in the first competition of the 2024 fall season Friday afternoon at Island View Golf Course. The Scots shot a team score of 329 compared to Crown's score of 378.
Lengfelder's score tops her own school record of 71, set at the 2022 MIAC Championships. First year
Mia Cluff (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt) and junior
Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) tied for third with a score of 86, while junior
Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Ashbury College) was one stroke back in fifth place. Senior
Kirsten Hope Barsola (New Braunfels, Texas/Academy of the Holy Angels (NJ)) also competed and finished a stroke behind Bruce in seventh.
Macalester plays this weekend at the Saint Benedict Invitational on Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell, Minn.
