ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team headed to St. Peter today for a MIAC match against Gustavus. The Gusties (13-10, 7-1 MIAC) came out on top 9-0 this morning over the Scots. Macalester is now 10-6 (5-4 MIAC).
At No. 4 singles, sophomore
Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) forced a third set. After falling 6-4, Trevathan came back to win set two 6-4, before falling 1-0 (10-8 tiebreaker). At first singles, senior
Sydney Ellison (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park) went to three sets as well, dropping the match 6-2, 3-6, 0-1 (7-10 tiebreaker). Ellison paired with fellow senior
Meg Ulrich (Carlisle, PA./Carlisle) at first doubles and Trevathan paired with fellow sophomore
Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) at second doubles. Both pairings fell 8-3.
Macalester rounds out the regular season Sunday April 28 at 11:30 am. The Scots head to Owatonna, MN to face St. Olaf.
