ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College senior
Hans Haenicke (Lisle, Ill./Benet Academy) and
Sam Price (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech), juniors
Nick Kent (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) and
Tanguy Lesegretain (Warren, N.J./Watchung Hills) and sophomores
Jack Freimann (Denver, Colo./Northfield) and
Michael Myers (San Rafael, Calif./Marin Catholic) were included on the NCAA Division III Academic All-District Team for men's soccer, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today.
Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically; have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50; and have played in 90 percent of their team's games or have started at least 66 percent of their team's games to be considered for Academic All-District and Academic All-American accolades.
This is the third Academic All-District award for Haenicke, who was selected to the Academic All-America third team by the CSC in 2023. The Scots' leading scorer in each of the past four years, Haenicke was named to the All-MIAC team for the fourth time this fall. A German studies and media & cultural studies double major, he ranks fifth all-time at Macalester with 35 career goals.
Price made the Academic All-District Team as a junior and the Academic All-MIAC team in each of the past two years. This fall he ranked second in the MIAC in both shutouts (eight) and goals against average (1.01) and was third in save percentage (.780). Also a standout on the Macalester debate team, Price is majoring in both economics and data science.
Kent also is a repeat selection on the Academic All-District Team after making his third All-MIAC team this year. The Scots' central defender also is a two-time All-Region honoree. A data science major, Kent was included on the Academic All-MIAC team in 2023.
Lesegretain made both the Academic All-District and Academic All-MIAC teams last year. He started the Scots' first 12 games as a central midfielder before being limited by injuries. Lesegretain is majoring in both international studies and economics at Macalester.
Freimann became a starter late in the season, starting the final six games this fall as a central midfielder. Freimann is an economics major.
Myers also contributed in the second half of the season, starting eight of the final 10 games as an outside defender. Myers is an economics and mathematics double-major.
