Nick Kent (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) were named to the All-MIAC team, as the conference announced its year-end awards today. Also recognized were sophomore midfielder
Kasdan Blattman (San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine) and sophomore forward
Chris Frantz (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove), who received All-MIAC honorable mention.
Haenicke makes the All-MIAC team for the fourth time in his career, becoming just the 18th men's soccer player to achieve All-MIAC status four times in the history of the All-MIAC program. He saved his best season for last, registering 12 goals and four assists for 28 points to rank second in the MIAC in goals and fourth in points. A clutch goal scorer who rose to the occasion, Haenicke led the conference with six game-winning goals this season. He finishes his career with 35 goals, 14 assists and 84 points to rank fifth in goals, 13th in assists and seventh in points on Macalester's all-time lists.
Kent earned his third All-MIAC citation in as many years at Macalester. This season he overcame injuries to anchor the Scots' backline that contributed to 10 shutouts and averaged one goal allowed over 18 games. Also willing to join the attack, Kent registered an assist in a 3-2 win at Luther. An All-Region performer along with Haenicke, he was included on the MIAC All-Playoff team this fall as Macalester advanced to its 10th consecutive MIAC postseason. Kent has two goals and three assists in 51 games as a Scot.
Blattman receives All-MIAC honorable mention after making the All-MIAC squad last year. A skilled and speedy midfielder, he registered a goal and five assists this season. Blattman notched a pair of assists in a 2-0 win over Concordia and scored a goal in a 6-0 victory over Hamline. He has five goals and eight assists for 18 points in 37 career games.
Frantz makes his first appearance on the MIAC awards list after recording six goals and six assists for 18 points. He is 13th in the MIAC in assists and 14th in points. In a 4-2 victory at Bethel on Oct. 2, Frantz scored twice for his first career brace. He also had a goal and an assist in wins over Grinnell and Concordia. In 37 games at Macalester, Frantz has 12 goals and 10 assists for 34 points.
Shea Bechtel of St. Olaf was chosen the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, Gustavus' Jared Hecht is the Defensive Player of the Year and Hamline's Ricky Kwabena Yawson is the Rookie of the Year. Bethel head coach Jeremy Iwaszkowiec was selected the MIAC Coach of the Year.

The Scots, coached by
Gregg Olson, went 12-6 this fall, including a 6-4 record in the MIAC, and were ranked in the region all season.
