ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College junior guard Caleb Williams (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) was one of five men's basketball players included on HoopsHD's list of top performers during the exhibition season. Williams poured in 41 points against the University of Minnesota in an exhibition game on Nov. 2.

The list, selected by Jon Teitel, includes five players from power conferences, five players from mid-major conferences, and five players from non-Division I schools, which is where Williams is mentioned.

A two-time All-MIAC and All-Region guard, Williams made 14-of-31 from the field and hit 5-of-12 from three-point range. He also was 8-of-10 from the free throw line and added five rebounds, two assists and a steal. The other four players included on the non-Division I list are all from Division II institutions, leaving Williams as the lone Division III player named to the list. Minnesota's Dawson Garcia, who recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds against the Scots, was named to the power conference list.

Last season Williams averaged 21.5 points per game to rank third in the MIAC. He led the conference with 79 three-pointers en route to earning All-MIAC and All-Region honors for the second straight season. In just his 53rd career game at Macalester, Williams scored his 1,000th career point, ending the season with 1,066 points to rank 17th all-time at Macalester.

Macalester begins the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at home against UW-Superior. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
