ST. PAUL, Minn. - Thirteen Macalester College student-athletes earned All-Academic Team honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, the organization announced today. Additionally, the Scots received the ACWPC All-Academic Team Award after posting the eighth-highest team grade-point average (3.67) among all women's collegiate water polo teams.
To be eligible for the ACWPC All-Academic Award, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.20 or higher.
The 13 Scots to earn the ACWPC All-Academic Award are
Honor Kalala (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair),
Annika Krueger (Emerald Hills, Calif./Sequoia) and
Riley Waters (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy), rising seniors
Malia Borg (Charleston, S.C./Academic Magnet),
Sydney Hollingsworth (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) and
Eleanor Michaud (Long Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson), rising juniors
Laurel O'Hare (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) and
Gabriela Weiner (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young Magnet), and rising sophomores
Kendall Coney (League City, Texas/Clear Creek),
Luna Johnston (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep),
Brooke Lane (Meriden, Conn./Hopkins School),
Sian Lewandowski (North Haven, Conn./Williston Northampton) and
Elizabeth Matlin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson).
Macalester, coached by
Scott Reed, went 6-13 in 2022 and advanced to the third-place game at the CWPA Tournament.
