ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College water polo team had four Scots recognized on the At-Large Division III Academic All-District team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced today. They are seniors
Jayden Kratt (Palo Alto, Calif./Henry M. Gunn),
Alana Nadolski (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) and
Jess Palmer-Sammons (Half Moon Bay, Calif./Half Moon Bay), and sophomore
Anna Gaisser (Seattle, Wash./Ingraham).
The CSC Academic All-America and All-District program honors student-athletes for excellence in both academics and athletics. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games to be considered for Academic All-District and All-American accolades.
This is the second time on the Academic All-District team for Kratt, who also received the honor in 2025. The Scots' starting goalkeeper, she received All-American honorable mention for the second time in her career while also making the All-CWPA second team this spring. Kratt played in 17 games this year, registering 158 saves while posting an 8.18 goals against average and a .539 save percentage. A neuroscience major, Kratt earned the ACWPC All-Academic Award three times.
Nadolski makes her third appearance on the Academic All-District team. This season she registered 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points, including three goals in the third-place game of the USA Water Polo National Championship. Her performance earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team. A statistics and computer science major, Nadolski earned the ACWPC All-Academic Award the past three years.
Also a three-time Academic All-District selection, Palmer-Sammons was an Academic All-American in 2025. This year she repeated as CWPA Most Valuable Player after leading the Scots with 48 goals and 32 assists for 80 points in 22 games this season en route to being named to the All-America second team by the ACWPC. A three-time All-American and All-CWPA honoree, Palmer-Sammons was chosen the Player of the Tournament after leading Macalester to the CWPA Tournament title with 11 points in three games. A biology and Spanish major at Macalester, she also has earned the ACWPC All-Academic Award three times.
Gaisser received All-CWPA honorable mention after tallying 35 goals and 30 assists for 65 points to rank second on the team in all three categories. In three wins at the CWPA Tournament, she registered six goals and six assists for 12 points. An All-CWPA second team selection last year, Gaisser is majoring in environmental studies.
The Scots, coached by
Scott Reed, were 16-6 overall, won the CWPA Tournament and for the first time advanced to the USA Water Polo Division III National Championship, where they finished third.
