SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Macalester College water polo team closed out the CWPA Regional at Wittenberg University with a 17-4 loss to Austin College Sunday morning. The Scots return home with a 2-9 record overall and a 1-2 mark in CWPA conference play.
Austin, ranked No. 5 in Division III, jumped out to an 8-2 lead after two quarters, then put seven goals on the board in the third quarter to put the match out of reach. Senior

Annika Krueger (Emerald Hills, Calif./Sequoia) and junior
Eleanor Michaud (Long Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) also scoring for the Scots.
Macalester will play another four conference games at Carthage College April 9-10, starting with a rematch with Austin on Saturday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m.
