West Salem, Wis. – The Macalester College women's cross-country team finished 12
th of 30 teams at the UW-La Crosse/Tori Neubauer Invite.
Leading the Scots was junior
Maggie Froh (Milwaukee, Wis./Rufus King International School). Froh finished 47
th in a time of 23:52.0. The next two Scots across the finish line were also juniors.
Sylvia Greene (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) took 62
nd (24:04.2) while
Maria Blaesing (Munster, Ind./Munster) placed 73
rd (24:21.1). Macalester's next runner in was senior
Erin Franke (Chicago, Ill./Northside College Prep), who finished in a time of 24:44.5, placing 101
st. First year
Mara Pirone (Carrboro, N.C./Chapel Hill) finished 113
th in a time of 24:49.5, as the fifth Scot to finish the race. Sophomores
Sylvia Coyle (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) and
Ella Krumm (Helena, Mont./Capital) rounded out the Scots top seven.
Macalester competes next at the MIAC Cross Country Championships in St. Paul, Minn. on Saturday Oct 29, at 11:00 a.m.
