ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a MIAC loss at Gustavus, 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 Tuesday night at Gus Young Court. The Scots are now 9-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Gusties, who received votes in this week's AVCA Division III national poll, improve to 12-2, 1-0 MIAC.
Macalester had difficulty solving Gustavus' defense, finishing with a .000 hitting percentage with 19 kills and 19 errors for the match. The first two sets were all Gustavus, as the Gusties registered 27 kills and just four attack errors. The Scots battled in the third set, getting as close as 14-11 before Gustavus closed out the match on an 11-4 run.

Eliza King (Novato, Calif./San Marin) had seven kills and first year
Stephanie Geber (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo) added six kills without an error for a .545 hitting percentage. First year
Nicole Norton (Brussels, Wis./Southern Door) had 17 assists, while first year
Torrance Williams (Houston, Texas/YES Prep Northbrook) had a team-best eight digs. Sarah Elliott led Gustavus with eight kills.
Macalester plays a non-conference match on Friday, Sept. 24 at UW-La Crosse.
