St. Paul, Minn.- The Macalester College men's tennis team has rattled off four straight wins after losing the first match of the season. The Scots picked up right where they left off to dominate Hamline University by defeating the Pipers 9-0 at home. Macalester now improves to 4-1 (4-1 MIAC) while Hamline falls to 2-9 (1-7 MIAC).

The Scots got off to a strong start by sweeping doubles play. The no. 1 slotted senior duo of
Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./ Maple Grove) and
Ben White (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) coasted to an 8-1 victory.

The no. 2 duo of sophomores
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) and senior
Aidan Toner-Rodgers (Sebastopol, Calif./Analy) fought hard to take their match 8-7. No. 3 slotted juniors
Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) and
Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Maison West) blanked their opponents en route to an 8-0 victory.

No. 3 slotted junior
Karsten Knutsen (Minneapolis, Minn./Riverfield Country Day (Okla.) dominated his opponent as well by winning two straight sets by a score of 6-0 and 6-1. No. 5 slotted Sullivan and no. 6 slotted Poland both blanked their opponents in two straight sets to cap off singles play.
