Arden Hills, Minn.- The Macalester College men's tennis team earned a 6-3 victory over Bethel University to improve to 3-1 (3-1 MIAC). Bethel falls to 4-7 (4-2 MIAC) after losing tonight's match.

In doubles play, no. 2 pair of sophomore
Matthew Sullivan (Tacoma, Wash./Weil) and senior
Aidan Toner-Rodgers (Sebastopol, Calif./Analy) scrapped to a hard fought 8-7 (7-5) victory. No. 3 slotted juniors
Jeffrey Jorgensen (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) and
Alexander Poland (Madison, Wis./Maison West) teamed up to defeat the Bethel duo by a score of 8-3.

In singles play, Senior
Sam Hochberger (Maple Grove, Minn./ Maple Grove) defeated his bethel opponent 6-3 and 6-1 in the no. 1 slot. No. 2 slotted Jorgensen took his match in two sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Sullivan held down the no. 5 slot and won his match in two sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Poland rounded out single play with an exciting 6-4, 7-5 win in the no. 6 slot.

Macalester will face off with Hamline University at home on April 24. The Scots will square off with the Pipers at 12:30 pm.
