MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The Macalester College men's swimming and diving team sent two swimmers to finals while five swimmers beat their seasons best times.
Sophomore
Tanner Hubbard (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) raced out to a 13
th place finish in the 400 yard IM during the prelim's session. Hubbard touched the wall in 4:26.11. Sophomore
Ben Blomquist (Las Vegas, Nev./ED W. Clark) sprinted to a 57.50 in the 100 yard backstroke to earn a 14
th place finish and move into the finals. In the finals, Blomquist swam a 58.10 to earn a 14
th place overall finish.
First year
Benjamin Levy (Beloit, Wis./Beloit Memorial) just missed the cut in the 100 yard breaststroke prelims with a 18
th place finish. Levy's solid time of 1:00.01 was also a season best. Sophomore
Aiden Williams (Chicago, Ill./Walter Payton College Prep) raced to a season best time in the 100 yard backstroke as well.
Blomquist barely missed the cut in the 100 yard butterfly prelims with a 17
th finish but managed to swim a career best time as a Scot Senior
Jayden West (Appleton, Wis./Appleton North) also swam a season best time in the 100 yard butterfly prelims and the 100 yard breaststroke prelims.
The Scots will race in the final day of the MIAC Swimming and diving Championships starting tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.
