Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College softball team was swept by MIAC No. 2 St. Catherine University today. The Scots will play their final home doubleheader of the season on Saturday, April 27, against Bethel University.
In the first game, the Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. But the Scots cut that lead in half when sophomore Audrey Meade (Cedar Hills, Utah/Pleasant Grove) hit a single to get on base. She advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt by senior
Claire O'Connor (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont). The Scots scored when sophomore
Anya Lindell Paulson (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) hit a double down the left field line to send Meade home. The Wildcats, however, took back control of the game and scored eight more runs to beat Macalester 10-1.
Macalester was shut out in the second game and St. Catherine University won 12-0. Senior pitcher Sophie Migacz (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) threw a total of seven innings on the day and continued to rack up strikeouts, remaining fifth in the MIAC in the stat line, respectively.
Macalester returns to play on Saturday, April 27, against Bethel University at home in St. Paul, Minn.
