ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team fell to 11th-ranked Gustavus, 25-8, 25-15, 25-12 in a MIAC match Thursday night in the Leonard Center. With the loss, the Scots are now 7-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference, while the Gusties improve to 13-2, 4-0 MIAC.

Sofia Parmelee (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly) turned in a team-best seven kills, while senior outside hitter
Sofi Ascencio (Oakland, Calif./Holy Names) registered six kills and nine digs. Senior setter
Emily Bowler (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) tallied 14 assists and nine digs. Sophomore libero
Abrielle Dillon (Brown Deer, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) paced the defense with 14 digs. The Gusties' Lauren Hanson had a match-high nine kills, as Gustavus won its fifth match in a row.
Macalester hosts Martin Luther in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 3. The first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
