ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team lost a MIAC match to St. Thomas, 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 Tuesday evening in the Leonard Center. The Scots are now 7-10 overall and 0-4 in the conference, while the Tommies improve to 10-5, 3-1 MIAC.
Senior outside hitter
Nicole Bennington (Shelton, Wash./Olympia) led Macalester with eight kills, while senior outside hitter
Sofi Ascencio (Oakland, Calif./Holy Names) and sophomore middle hitter
Sofia Parmelee (Tenafly, N.J./Tenafly) each had four kills. Senior setter
Emily Bowler (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) delivered 19 assists. On defense, sophomore libero
Abrielle Dillon (Brown Deer, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) tallied 18 digs, with Ascencio adding 13 digs. Grace Bordson paced the Tommies with 10 kills.
The Scots will host 11th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus on Thursday, Sept. 27, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Leonard Center.
