MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Macalester College water polo team concluded the regular-season schedule with a perfect 7-0 record in CWPA matches following a 14-1 victory over Penn State-Behrend Sunday morning at Monmouth College. The Scots (11-4 overall) are the CWPA regular-season champions and the top seed for the CWPA Tournament, held Apr. 14-15 in Erie, Pa.
Macalester tallied the first nine goals of the game before the Lions found the net with eight seconds left in the second quarter. Junior

Oriana Galasso (Gresham, Ore./Central Catholic) had three goals apiece in the first half, while senior
Hannah Gray (Pasadena, Calif./South Pasadena), junior
Natalie Hoffman (Seattle, Wash./Inglemoor) and sophomore
Naomi Strait (Beaverton, Ore./Beaverton) also scored. Sophomore
Cara Mullery (Palmetto Bay, Fla./MAST Academy) and Galasso each notched two goals in the final two quarters, while Moran added her fourth goal of the game.

Courtney Overland (Honolulu, Hawaii/Iolani) registered 16 saves for the game and had seven saves in blanking Penn State-Behrend in the second half.
Macalester will defend its 2017 CWPA Tournament title as the top seed at this year's conference championship, which begins on Apr. 14 at Penn State-Behrend in Erie, Pa.
