ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's swimming and diving team faced St. Catherine University in a dual meet Friday night at the Butler Center Pool. The Scots fell to the Wildcats, 135-105 in the team scoring.
Macalester's 4x200-yard medley relay team of senior
Kaia Lund (Mondovi, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial), sophomores
Ana Thompson (Minnetonka, Minn./Orono) and
Ariel Roghair (Iowa City, Iowa/West), and first year
Sophie Mark-Ng (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge and Latin School) won with a time of 1:55.05. Lund also was victorious in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.88, and placed second in the 200-yard freestyle. Thompson won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.99 while taking second in the 200-yard individual medley.
Mark-Ng captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.40, and also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle. In diving, sophomore
Francesca Gillis (River Forest, Ill./Trinity) won the 1-meter event with a score of 247.75 and took second in the 3-meter event with 253.45 points. Other second-place finishes by the Scots include sophomore
Miriam Eide (Rochester, Minn./Century) in the 100-yard freestyle, and junior
Olivia Borgmann (Seattle, Wash./Garfield) in the 100-yard backstroke.
Macalester hosts a dual with Grinnell College on Saturday, Jan. 27, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Riley Pool.
