MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Macalester College women's soccer team dropped a MIAC game at Concordia College, 1-0 in double overtime Wednesday afternoon at Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex. The Scots are now 3-3-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference, while the Cobbers improve to 3-5-1, 1-3 MIAC.
Macalester outshot the host Cobbers, 9-5 through 90 minutes of regulation and the first 10-minute overtime period. With 1:07 remaining in the second overtime, Klara Beinhorn found the net off an assist from Kalli Baarstad for the game-winner. It was Beinhorn's first goal of the season.
Senior goalkeeper
Rachel Wilson-King (Tucson, Ariz./St. Gregory College Prep School) surrendered her first goal of the season in over 518 minutes played. She registered three saves, while Concordia goalkeeper Maddy Reed made four saves for the shutout.
Macalester continues its MIAC schedule with a home game against St. Thomas on Saturday, Sept. 30. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. at Macalester Stadium.
