REDLANDS, Calif. – The Macalester College water polo suffered its first loss of the 2017 season, falling to the University of Redlands, 8-5 Wednesday night at the Thompson Aquatic Center. The Scots drop to 3-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 5-13.

Cara Mullery (Palmetto Bay, Fla./MAST Academy) brought Macalester within a goal twice, but the Bulldogs found the net three times over a span of 1:20 to take an 8-4 advantage. Mullery scored her third goal of the game with 31 seconds remaining to close out the scoring. First year
Oriana Galasso (Gresham, Ore.), who was named the CWPA Player and Rookie of the Week on Mar. 10, scored Macalester's other two goals.
The Scots continue their trip to California with a pair of games at Cal Lutheran on Thursday, Mar. 16. Macalester faces Connecticut College at 12:30 p.m. Pacific before taking on Cal Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
