ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team beat Crown College Storm in three sets. The Scots are now 8-18 on the season and are looking forward to their last home match of the season on Wednesday.
In a close first set the Scots beat Crown 25-22. They then went on to win the next two sets 25-28, 25-19. The Scots senior outside hitters
India Medaris (Napa, Calif./Justin Siena) and
Clara Baumann (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) led the Scots with 19 and 14 kills. Baumann tied her second-highest defense night with 23 digs. Junior setter
Emily Bowler (South Salem, N.Y./John Jay) 20 assists on the night and was followed by junior setter
Sofi Ascencio (Oakland, Calif./Holy Names) with 16 assists.
Next up for Macalester is a conference home match against the College of St. Benedict on Oct. 25, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in St. Paul, Minn.
