WHITTIER, Calif. – The Macalester College water polo team lost to Whittier College, 12-2 in the final game of its Spring Break trip to California Sunday morning at the Lillian Slade Aquatics Center. The result leaves the Scots at 2-14 on the season, while the Poets improve to 14-7.

Macalester received goals from first years Lucille Moran (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) and Natalie Hoffman (Seattle, Wash./Inglemoor), as Whittier jumped out to an 8-1 lead at halftime en route to the 12-2 victory.

The Scots return to action on Friday, Apr. 1 with matches against Penn State-Behrend and Connecticut College. Both games will be played in Erie, Pa.
