WINONA, Minn. – A goal by senior forward
Austin Burrows (Roseville, Calif./Jesuit) in the 88th minute lifted the Macalester College men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory at Saint Mary's University in a MIAC game Wednesday night at Ochrymowycz Field. The Scots improve to 10-2-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the league, while the Cardinals fall to 6-5-1, 3-3-1 MIAC.
Macalester found the net in the 11th minute, when Burrows scored off assists from junior midfielder
Zach Moore (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) and first year defender
Max Kent (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Louis Park) for an early 1-0 lead. Less than seven minutes later, junior forward
Danny Baumann (Waterford, Wis./Muskego) set up a goal by sophomore defender
Logan Harper (Westwood, Mass./St. Mark's School) to make the score 2-0. The Cardinals answered quickly, with Sean Butcher scoring just 15 seconds after Harper's tally.
The Scots maintained the one-goal edge until the 71st minute, when Kyle Lichttenegger tied the game with an unassisted goal. With time winding down and overtime looming, Burrows came through with his second goal of the night with less than three minutes to play. Senior midfielder

Burrows, who missed the first five games due to injury, now has three goals on the season, including two game-deciding goals.
Senior goalkeeper
