ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College volleyball team kept its hot streak alive as they defeated both Knox College and Lake Forest College to advance to 8-1 overall this season.
The Scots have won five straight matches as they head into the final day of tournament play on Sunday when they face Lawrence University and Grinnell College.
Macalester swept Knox in straight sets, winning 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16. With the loss, Knox fell to 1-4 overall this season.
Clara Baumann (Wausau, Wis./Wausau East) led the Scots offensively, collecting a match-high 12 kills and hitting .400.

Cora Trout (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) picked up 13 digs, while
Arianna Hesterberg (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor) dished out 28 assists and added three service aces.
Macalester seemed to overpower the Praire Fire as they finished with 45 kills to the opponent's 21. Macalester hit a .270 average in the match, Knox hit just .072.
In the 6 p.m. match-up versus Lake Forest College, the Scots were victorious in a four-set battle amid a packed Alumni Gymnasium. Macalester took down the Foresters 27-25, 25-27, 25-23 and 25-13.
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) notched a season-high 18 kills in the four-set match. Hunter hit an impressive .457 attack percentage and added six digs.
India Medaris (Napa, Calif./Justin Siena) followed up with 17 kills and a .387 attack average.
Trout finished with 25 digs in the match and Hesterberg added a season-high 40 assists.
