NEW LONDON, Conn. --Â Macalester picked up a 6-3 win over Utica in the morning before dropping a 10-3 decision to host Connecticut College to wrap up its regular season on the final day of the Collegiate Water Polo Association East Round Robin tournament.
The Scots slowly edged away from Utica in their morning contest.
Brooke Finney scored with one minutes, 21 seconds to play in the opening quarter and
Sarah Shoemaker continued her dominant scoring ways, scoring her 13th and 14th goals of the weekend over the next two quarters and Hannan Currens would scored twice in the second half, along with a single goal from
Hannah Gray, to wrap up the victory.
Anya Phillips made five saves in earning the victory in goal.
The afternoon match saw Connecticut jump out to a 6-0 lead in the first first and the Camels led, 8-0, before Shoemaker got Macalester on the scoreboard with 2:21 to play in the second quarter.
The hosts had the game well in hand when
Liz Kelleher scored with 4:10 to play in the final quarter and Gray got the game's final goal with 3:05 to play.
The Scots have wrapped up the regular season with a 9-13 overall record and 8-6 in CWPA action. They will have the week off before the CWPA Championship, April 10-11, at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa.
