ORANGE, Calif. --Â Chapman jumped out to a 6-1 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 21-5 victory over Macalester, defeating the Scots for the second time in four days.
The Panthers scored twice in the game's first two minutes, 10 seconds, before Andrienne Burgin cut the lead in half at 2:46. Chapman then scored six consecutive goals before Burgin again scored to make the score 8-2.
Sarah Shoemaker scored with 55 seconds remaining in the first half but the hosts scored twice in the final 38 seconds of the half to take a 13-3 lead.
Shoemaker went onto score a third-quarter goal and
Hannah Gray finished the game's scoring with 2:36 to play.
The Scots have an off day, Tuesday, before wrapping up their California road trip, Wednesday, with a 10 a.m. PDT game at Whitter.
