A LOOK AHEAD
The Scots return eight players from last season's 9-13 squad, led by a pair of honorable mention All-Americans in Anya Phillips and Sarah Shoemaker.

Phillips was stellar in goal for the Scots in 2014 as she tallied 215 saves for an average of 10.2 saves per game. She also collected 25 assists and 65 stolen balls. In a six-overtime loss to Carthage College in the College Water Polo Association conference tournament, Phillips posted the second-best mark for saves in a game in program history with 22 stops. In her three seasons she has also totaled the fourth-most saves in program history for a single career.

Shoemaker was the Scots top offensive weapon this season with 45 goals. She also tallied 34 assists and 69 stolen balls. With her marks she now ranks fifth all-time at Macalester in career goals, fourth in career assists and fifth in stolen balls.

The duo is joined by fellow co-captain Hannah Currens in leading the 2015 squad, which is slated for two other round-robin events, the CWPA West Round Robin, March 20-22, at Monmouth, and the CWPA East Round Robin, March 27-29, at Connecticut College.

The CWPA Division III Championship is scheduled for April 10-11 at Grove City College and the Eastern Championship is slated for April 25-26 at Notre Dame College.

MAMA, I'M COMING HOME
A quartet of Scots will be in their home state during the team's spring trip.

Hannah Gray will be in her hometown of Pasadena, Monday, while Shoemaker and fellow senior Madeline Spolin and second-year Scot Liz Kelleher will also be returning to their home state for competition.

SHE'S THE BOSS
Jennie Charlesworth is in her seventh season as head water polo coach and fourth as Aquatics Coordinator at Macalester College, where she also serves as an a assistant coach with the swimming and diving programs.

Charlesworth was named coach of the tournament at the 2011 CWPA Division III women's water polo tournament and, as the head men's club coach, has earned CWPA Heartland Division coach of the year honors in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

A 2001 graduate of San Jose State University, where she played for the fifth-ranked NCAA Division I program in the nation. Charlesworth swam for San Jose State for one season before concentrating on water polo for her final three collegiate seasons.

Charlesworth was formerly the head girls' water polo coach and swimming coach at St. Joseph High School in Lakewood, Calif., a position she held for seven years, and was also employed as Aquatics Specialist for the city of Anaheim, Calif., before being hired at Macalester.

She began her polo and swimming coaching career, in 2001, as head coach for the boy's program at St. John Bosco High School after graduation from SJSU.
