ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Macalester College women's basketball team competed at Crown College in Saturday afternoon non-conference action. The Scots took an early lead against the Storm and extended the lead throughout the second half for a 66-49 final victory.

With the win, Macalester improves to 3-2 overall this season. Crown falls to 0-4 on the year.

After a fairly even first quarter (16-12), Macalester picked up the pace in the second and third to outscore the Storm 37 to 21 in the next 20 minutes. Macalester capitalized on scoring off of turnovers, forcing Crown into 29 in the game.

The Scots were once again dominant in their inside game as they scored 26 points in the paint to Crown's 12. Junior
Park Masterson (Poway, Calif./Poway) led the way offensively, draining eights shots from the field to finish with 16 points. Masterson also pulled-down a team high eight rebounds. Sophomore
Regan Fruh (Helena, Mont. / Helena) made five of seven shots from the field and three from behind the line to finish with 13 points. Â

Vivi Gregorich (Boulder, Colo. / Boulder) and
Erin Murray (Sparta, Wis. / Sparta) each dished out four assists. Â

The Scots outshot the Storm in field goal percentage, making 43.3% of attempts from the field to Crown's 39.5%.

Crown was led by Sam Mauer who finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Macalester will return to action on Monday, Nov. 30 as they host Bethany Lutheran in non-conference action at the Leonard Center. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
