ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Macalester College volleyball team hosted Augsburg College in a Saturday afternoon MIAC match-up. The Scots fell to the Auggies in straight sets, falling to 13-6 overall and 1-4 in conference action.
With the win, Augsburg improves to 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the MIAC. Gustavus Adophus and St. Ben's sit on top of the conference standings, both holding 5-0 records in conference play this season.
The Scots were unable to match the Auggies' offensive consistency. Macalester hit just .026 in the match to Augsburg's .303.
India Medaris led the way for Macalester on the attack, finishing with eight kills.
Arianna Hesterberg dished out 14 assists and
Kasey McMaster added nine.
Cora Trout led the defensive efforts with 17 digs.
Macalester will return to action on Oct. 10 as they travel to take on Hamline University. The first serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
