ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- The Macalester College volleyball team traveled to Arden Hills to take on Bethel University in Wednesday night MIAC volleyball action. The Royals won their fifth straight match, defeating the Scots in straight sets: 25-16, 25-19, and 25-16.
Macalester falls to 14-14 overall and 1-9 in conference play. Bethel improves to 20-8 overall and 8-2 in the MIAC (second place in the standings).
Clara Baumann led the way offensively for the Scots, finishing with 11 kills. Baumann also collected 10 digs.
Arianna Hesterberg dished out 22 assists and added one service ace. Hesterberg continues to lead the conference in total aces (64) and aces per set (.7).
Cora Trout led the defensive efforts with 11 digs.
Bethel had three players finish with double-digit kills totals. Tina Hoppe, Carlee Hoppe and Kristin Stern each posted 10 kills to lead the Royals.
Macalester will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 31 when they take on the University of St. Thomas in their final MIAC contest this season. The first serve is slated for 3 p.m. at UST.
