ST. PETER, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's volleyball team traveled to the campus of Gustavus Adolphus for Wednesday evening MIAC competition. The Gusties, who are undefeated and sit in first place in the conference, defended their home court and defeated the Scots in four sets.
Gustavus won the first two sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-6 before Macalester came back in set three to take the set with a score of 25-22. Gustavus finished out the match in the fourth set, winning 25-14.
The Scots fall to 13-8 overall and 1-6 in the MIAC. The Gusties improve to 19-2 overall and 7-0 in conference action.
Regan Fruh led Macalester offensively on the night, finishing with nine kills and hit .273 in the match.

Hoai-Nam Bui led the defensive efforts. Trout finished with 17 digs on the night, Bui with 11.
Kasey McMaster and
Arianna Hesterberg shared the setting role. McMaster dished out 18 assists; Hesterberg added nine.
Taylor Trautman who recorded 17 kills led the Gusties.
Macalester will return to action on Friday, Oct. 16 as they compete in the St. Kate's Tournament. The Scots will face UW-Superior and Wartburg College on Friday and will wrap up tournament play on Saturday against Crown and Luther College.
