ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Macalester turned in several solid performances but injuries and illness took away the Scots' depth as they dropped a 148-84 decision in a dual meet at St. Catherine.
Leading the way for Macalester was
Alese Halvorson, who posted a pair of individual victories and swam the anchor leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay for the Scots.
Halvorson cruised to victory in the 50-yard freestyle, winning by more than a second in a time of 25.79 seconds. She followed that by winning the 100-yard freestyle by 1.37 seconds in a time of 56.69. She also swam a 25.33 anchor leg in the medley relay, joining with Samantha Aamot,
Maggie McKenna and
Kaia Lund in post a time of 1:56.94.
Macalester also picked up a victory as McKenna claimed the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:11.84,
The Scots get no time to rest and recover as they return to the pool at noon, Saturday, hosting Grinnell in a dual meet at the Riley Pool.
